Mea Culpa

I'd like to apologize for the blog posts going up late in the last few weeks. Roomie and Rumor have started planning for their wedding, and being that I am the live-in Maid of Honor, I'm being dragged every weekend to some thing or another, most notably numerous dress "auditions," a venue viewing, and an inexplicable registry appointment, where I argued with the wedding coordinator that there is no need for them to register for a 12-piece dining set of anything, because we/they don't do fancy dinner parties. ( I did acquiesce to 12 margarita glasses, though. We are definitely blended drink people.)

I'm losing my mind. Send help.

I had seen all of the Star Trek spin-offs (Next Gen through Voyager. Enterprise? Never heard of it, sorry), but hadn't viewed TOS at all because, well... I couldn't get past the cheese factor. I changed my mind a few months ago when my roommate popped in the first disc of the first season and discovered that as clunky as it sometimes appeared, it still had all of the things that I liked about those spin-offs. Like many things that I admire, I felt the need to pick it apart and make fun of it. So I decided to create a blog where I view each episode, write up a summary, and mostly make rude comments about Yeoman Rand's hair. I'm going in production order, so the air dates will be off, as they weren't aired in that order, but to go by prod number means that things make more sense throughout the series. I may remark about the tea I'm drinking at the time, refer to other fandoms, or talk about my cats (Bratty, Moe, Uhura and Curie) . I don't know everything about Star Trek, but I am terribly Hermione about information and behind-the-scenes stuff, so I'll probably look stuff up and include some of that as well. A fair warning: if you're a fan of the series, think that it's perfect and would never, ever make fun of it in any way, you might want to stop reading now. This blog will not be your cup of Earl Grey. But, if you laugh at the sometimes goofy effects, ship Spirk, or just wish to revisit an old favorite in a new way, read on!
