Imagine ...This episode could have turned out awful. Imagine "The Ensigns of Command", except the A-plot is Picard trying to outwit the Sheliak, so the story hinges on him mulling over contract law. That would have been so bad. "Darmok" could have been super boring, but everything came together. I had a copy of G...I love this episode so much too. I had a copy of <i>Gilgamesh</i> sitting on my bookshelf for years and this episode led me to read it, which became another equally rewarding experience.<br />And while I also puzzle over how it's possible to construct a language of metaphors every time I watch <i>Darmok</i> I get so caught up in it I just go with it. <br />I hope Russel's seen it by now.
